Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge

Whitehaven to Newcastle

The Challenge

The coast to coast cycle trek starts in Whitehaven and takes you through Penrith and the Lake District before crossing the Pennines and finally finishing at Tynemouth at the C2C marker post.

The route is 137 miles and is split over 3 days cycling, allowing you to see the countryside and cycle relaxed each day. Lunch stops are provided by us and there is a hearty evening meal in the hotel at night with a hot breakfast in the morning.

We will stay for 2 nights in Penrith and your cycle will be transported from there to the start. We cycle back to Penrith for the first nights stop. On day 2, we set off for Alston, taking us over the formidable Hartside Summit. We continue to Hexham where we stay overnight.

Day 3 sees us on the final leg through Corbridge and towards the River Tyne where we cycle on the cycle track along by the river and on to the quayside at Newcastle. We continue on the cycle track through to Tynemouth for a well earned rest.

We meet you with your luggage at the finish and take you for showers then a celebration meal.

The terrain on this cycle ride is undulating and strenuous so a degree of fitness and cycle use before the event is necessary.

A cycle helmet is compulsory on this event. We do not cary any cycle helmets so you must ensure you bring one with you.
