GR20 walk – Corsica

The Challenge

This is your ultimate international challenge! Are you ready to face it head on? It consists of walking for 14 days from Calenzana to Conca along the backbone of Corsica.

Day1. Flying to the airport near the town of Calvi, we head for the mountain village of Calenzana where out trek begins.  After a briefing before we leave, we start our walk with a qualified walk guide.

We cross mountains daily up to 6000ft, cross rivers and descend into valleys. There are stunning views and barren landscapes in this walk, referred to as the hardest walk in Europe. Full support will be provided on the walk and where possible along the route, minibus support at the refuges with food and drinks supplied.

The entire route is over mountains along the backbone of Corsica. Strict safety precautions will be observed. The route involves via ferrata but is safe to walk and has been completed previously by staff involved.

Accommodation will be in tents and refuges as the trip permits with a hotel at the finish. This challenge is a never to be forgotten trip and a lifetime achievement. The journey is long, and the body may ache but it will be worthwhile to gain the prize and satisfaction of completing the GR20.

The event is expected to take 14 days walking then one day flying to and from the island and 1 day travel back to the airport from the finish. Total time away is 17 days.

There is no other UK company that runs this event and we specialise in it, offering expert knowledge of the route and how to prepare and walk it. A walk of this calibre means you need to be very fit so lots of training is needed beforehand.

Before the event, on registering and in the lead up to it, full support on training and preparation, kit list and general advice will be given.
