The Challenge
This walk to Mount Toubkal, the highest mountain in Morocco is exceptional in that it takes you from sand dunes to mountains with commanding views over a large area.
Add this to the trek up the mountain and the experience of visiting Marrakech and the market there and you have an excellent trip.
Day 1
We travel to Marrakech and from there we go straight to the village of Imlill and eat in the hotel.
Day 2
We leave with our mule and ascend 4500 feet to the small refuge there where we stay overnight.
Day 3
We ascend to 4167 metres and reach the summit of Toubkal. After the customary photos, we descend to the refuge to complete the 6 to 9 hour trek for the day.
Day 4
We again walk back to Imlill with our mule and collect our luggage before being transported to Marrakech and our hotel there. We eat out in the town in the evening.
Day 5
This is a sightseeing day around Marrakech with the famous market there and we see the different culture and traditions of Marrakech before being taken to the airport for our return flight home.
