Isle of Wight Coastal Footpath

The Challenge

The route around the coast covers 68 miles on this scenic coastal walk and it is divided into 4 sections for easier walking.

To walk the entire coastline of an island such as the Isle of Wight is a reward in itself – to experience the exhilarating views is something different. This guided 4 day walk is an excellent walking holiday for anyone who is reasonably fit.

Come with us over Tennyson Down, then on to the Needles with breathtaking views over the Solent.

We meet at the ferry terminal in Southampton at 8am before travelling to Ryde where we start the walk. All heavy baggage will be carried in the minibus and you walk with a much lighter day bag. The walk is planned over 4 days so you can enjoy the scenery, villages on route and attractions along the way. Finishing the walk where we started in Ryde, we travel back to Southampton on the Sunday evening where the event finishes.

Terrain

Undulating in places but not mountains, more rolling hills and short ‘chines’ to negotiate up and down. Many paths are grass, promenade or small gravel. Lots of flat paths, very good views at each turn in the path.
