This is your ultimate challenge! Are you ready to face it head- on? It consists of walking for approximately 34 days from Land’s End on the shortest route to John O’Groats.
Day 1. We meet in Penzance and will be taken by minibus to Lands’ End. After a briefing before we leave, we start our walk with a qualified walk guide.
Full support will be provided on the walk throughout, consisting of a vehicle meeting us every 6 to 10 miles along the route with food and drinks and carrying our main packs to enable us to walk easier, carrying just drinks/snacks.
The entire route is on pavement, grass verge and road. Strict safety precautions will be observed and the route is safe to walk and has been completed previously by staff involved. Trainers that are thick foam are what we wear so as not to get blisters on route.
Accommodation will be a combination of tents, B&B‘s and some hotels during the period depending on location and weather.
This challenge will be a trip and a lifetime achievement. The journey is long, the feet may blister and the body ache but it will be worthwhile to gain the satisfaction of being able to walk from Land’s End to John O’Groats.
The event is expected to take approx. 30- 35 days but up to 37 days to complete depending on fitness, weather and walking speed. There is a cut-off point at 40 days. It is not a race but we will endeavour to complete it in as good a time as we can but safely and without injury, with the small group staying together as a team.
On reaching John O’Groats, transport will be provided to Inverness to enable walkers to connect with a train or bus. Walkers can alternatively invite relations to come and cheer them over the finish line at John O’Groats before leaving.
This walk is ideally suited to newly retired but fit people or walkers who have the time to complete the event without a total time restraint; however, it is open to any person who has the time. There is no other company that runs this event and we specialise in it, offering expert knowledge of the route and how to prepare and walk it. It may sound expensive but it includes all food, accommodation and full support for up to 35 days.
Walkers are encouraged to get sponsored for this event and you are welcome to invite press and TV to help publicise your efforts and charity fundraising if you so wish.
